Glossary topic
Physical design and signoff terms describe how a netlist becomes a layout ready for manufacture: floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and the timing, power, reliability and physical checks a design must pass before tape-out.
Physical design engineers and project leads use them to track closure, explain why a block misses timing or power, and agree when a design is clean enough to send to the foundry.
