Lifecycles for you
The chip lifecycles that the training plan for Incubators, accelerators and tech-transfer offices draws on most. Each one sets out its stages, the gates that check them and the work handed over.
- Fabless startup chip lifecycle →A new fabless company's first chip, from the problem and market thesis and the founding team through a proof of concept in simulation and on an FPGA prototype, pre-seed and seed funding, architecture and partner selection, and a test chip on a shuttle, to evaluation with design partners, a Series A and product silicon, qualification and first revenue, and scale-up. Funding gates sit beside the engineering gates.15 stages, 27 gates
- Product lifecycle →The business lifecycle of a semiconductor product, from the first sign of a market opportunity through concept, definition, development, validation, sampling, qualification, launch, ramp, maturity and decline to end of life and the support that continues after the last shipment. The engineering lifecycles run inside it.13 stages, 31 gates
- SoC and full-chip lifecycle →The whole chip, from its specification through IP integration, full-chip design and verification, tape-out, bring-up and qualification to production and end of life.15 stages, 22 gates
- Soft IP lifecycle →One reusable block delivered as synthesisable design code (soft IP), made in-house or taken in from a supplier, from its specification through design, verification, implementation views and quality checks to a versioned release for SoC teams.8 stages, 10 gates
New to the lifecycle? Start here: the lifecycle in five steps, see the whole lifecycle on one page or look up a term in the glossary.
What the Hub brings
Founders and spin-outs already look for funding, partners and events here. This is how you work alongside them today.
Funding programmes with their sources
The grants page lists public semiconductor funding programmes. Each links to its official source, shows its deadline status, and an entry that may be out of date is flagged for review.
Filter by place and entity type
Founders narrow programmes by geography and by the type of entity eligible. They see what fits before they write a word of an application.
An eligibility check
The eligibility page lets a founder check which programmes they may qualify for. You can send a team there instead of answering the same questions again.
An investor directory for co-investors
Browse investors active in semiconductor and deep tech, by region, category and fit. If someone is missing, you can submit them for review.
Find corporate partners
The company directory covers the value chain. Each profile can be claimed by a verified work email, so you reach people who stand behind the page.
Your spin-outs, listed
Anyone can submit a company to the directory. A person reviews it, and the profile goes live unclaimed until a founder claims it.
A university page for tech-transfer offices
Institutions have public pages that a verified representative can claim with evidence. A person reviews the claim before the Claimed badge appears.
Host a demo day
Submit it to the events calendar. After review it is listed, and you can take registrations, set a capacity and check people in on the day.
What changes for you
What is not here yet
There are no portfolio pages for programmes yet, and you cannot publish your own call on the grants page, because the Hub team curates it. The accelerators page is about AI chips, not programmes. The Hub takes no fee for introductions.
Money never changes the order
Funding programmes and directory results are not ranked by payment. Money never changes how anything is ordered here.
Choosing this page changes only where you start
Picking an audience changes where you begin and nothing else. Nobody is shown who chose what.
