Pathfinding Architect (Beyond-CMOS)

Work done for a product or program.

• Own the beyond-CMOS and advanced-node option portfolio, from CFET and 2D-channel devices to backside power delivery and monolithic 3D.
• Run design-technology co-optimisation studies that translate device-level parameters into block-level PPAC using standard-cell and SRAM test cases.
• Build and maintain PPAC and cost models per option, including wafer cost, mask count, yield assumptions and EUV/High-NA exposure counts.
• Define and prioritise pathfinding test vehicles and negotiate shuttle reticle space and silicon resource with development management.
• Set quantified down-selection gates with explicit kill criteria and enforce them against organisational enthusiasm.
• Translate product and customer roadmaps into technology requirements for performance, density, power and cost per transistor.
• Evaluate system-technology co-optimisation levers including chiplet partitioning, 3D stacking and memory-logic integration.
• Assess supply-chain and equipment readiness for each option in partnership with ASML, Applied Materials, Lam, KLA and TEL.
• Present option recommendations to executive technology review boards and defend them against alternative proposals.

• Mentor device physicists, TCAD engineers and DTCO engineers and steer the research portfolio toward roadmap-relevant questions.
