Trending

What the industry is reading, searching, discussing and hiring for right now, computed from aggregated, de-identified activity on the Hub and placed on its own taxonomy of technologies, companies, standards, markets and skills: never purchasable, never influenced by payment. A term only appears once it clears a minimum number of people, so an early or quiet window may show fewer entries, or none.

Showing trends in every market and region

Nothing clears the trending floor for the last 24 hours yet.

Each entry is ranked on how fast interest is growing, not on its size alone: this window's activity multiplied by its growth on the window before, so a steady giant ranks below a smaller topic that is accelerating. The signals, each counted in distinct people or companies:

Page visits
Distinct visitors to the topic, company, standard, market or skill page on the Hub, including company profiles in the directory.
Searches
Distinct people whose searches named it, on any search box including the directory's, and directory lookups of a target market. A search term counts only once at least ten people have used it, and never if it is sensitive.
Discussions
Distinct members who started or replied to a public discussion tagged with it or naming it in the title.
Job postings
Distinct companies that posted a role tagged with it. A company's own roles never count towards that company.

A sudden burst inside a short stretch of the window is capped, visits arriving from a company's own website do not count towards that company, and editors can only suppress or pin an entry with a recorded reason. A segment or market slice keeps the entries that belong to it (a technology belongs once at least two companies in it work on that technology); a region slice keeps the activity that came from that region.
