Corrective Action Engineer

Project

Work done for a product or program.

• Lead 8D teams for internal excursions, customer complaints and audit non-conformances, from D0 emergency response to D8 closure.
• Apply structured root cause tools including is / is-not analysis, five-why, Ishikawa, fault tree and Shainin Red X component swapping.
• Verify occurrence and detection root causes separately and reject 8Ds that only address the symptom.
• Design and validate containment actions with clear boundaries on affected lots, dates and sites.
• Define permanent corrective actions in PFMEA, control plans and work instructions, and confirm the documents actually change.
• Run effectiveness verification after implementation using statistical evidence rather than opinion.
• Perform read-across to sibling products, processes and sites so the lesson propagates beyond the reported case.
• Administer the CAPA system, escalate overdue actions and report closure and recurrence metrics.

• Facilitate lessons-learned capture into design and process rule decks and check-lists.
• Coach engineers and technicians in root cause methodology and audit the quality of their 8D write-ups.
