Backend Manufacturing Engineer

• Own the assembly process of record at OSAT partners such as ASE, Amkor, JCET, PTI and SPIL, including die attach, wire bond or flip-chip bump, mould, ball attach and singulation parameters.
• Drive assembly and final test yield improvement by analysing bin Pareto, package-level failure modes, wire bond pull and shear data, and delamination results from C-SAM inspection.
• Qualify new packages and package changes through JEDEC reliability stress sequences including MSL preconditioning, temperature cycling, HTSL, uHAST and drop or board-level reliability testing.
• Review and approve OSAT process change notifications, assessing impact on the qualified process of record and driving requalification where the change is material.
• Lead failure analysis and corrective action for assembly excursions using 8D discipline, driving containment, root cause and permanent corrective action with the OSAT.
• Optimise final test cost by increasing multi-site parallelism, reducing test time, improving handler index time and managing contactor and socket life on the test floor.
• Coordinate qualification of substrate and lead frame suppliers and manage dual sourcing of critical backend materials such as substrates and mould compound.
• Support new product introduction builds from engineering samples through qualification lots to volume ramp with documented readiness gates.

• Manage assembly and test capacity bookings, lot starts, work-in-progress priorities and cycle time commitments with OSAT planning teams.
• Define and maintain assembly travellers, bill of materials for substrate, wire, mould compound and solder ball, and approved vendor lists for backend materials.
