InGaAs (Indium Gallium Arsenide)
A ternary III-V alloy whose composition can be tuned to lattice-match indium phosphide while absorbing short-wave infrared out to about 1.7 micrometres. It is the standard material for telecom photodiodes and SWIR imagers.

Notes
SWIR cameras built on InGaAs cost far more than silicon imagers, which is driving interest in quantum dot alternatives.
