Epiwafer (Epitaxial Wafer)
A substrate carrying one or more single-crystal layers grown on its surface with controlled composition, doping and thickness. In compound semiconductors the epitaxial stack, not the substrate, defines the device, so epiwafers are sold as engineered products.
