• Build block-level and gate-count-driven FMEDAs in Ansys medini analyze, allocating base failure rates from IEC TR 62380, SN 29500 or JEDEC JEP122 models.
• Derive permanent and transient fault distributions per technology node, including soft error rate contributions from neutron and alpha flux data.
• Run fault tree analysis to trace violations of safety goals back to combinations of component failures and missing diagnostics.
• Perform dependent failure analysis on shared resources such as clocks, power domains, reset trees and shared memory to justify freedom from interference.
• Conduct inductive FMEA and design FMEA sessions with designers using AIAG-VDA structure and severity-occurrence-detection ranking.
• Correlate claimed diagnostic coverage with fault simulation results and adjust FMEDA credit where evidence is weak.
• Produce customer-facing FMEDA deliverables and pin-level FIT breakdowns required for item-level integration.
• Support field return analysis by updating failure rate assumptions with observed FIT data.

• Compute SPFM, LFM and PMHF for each safety goal and iterate with designers when metrics fall short of the ASIL threshold.
• Maintain reusable FMEDA libraries and failure mode catalogues for standard IP such as SRAM, PLLs, ADCs, SerDes and CPU cores.
