• Write and maintain the project safety plan, including lifecycle tailoring, confirmation measure schedule and safety work-product list per ISO 26262-2 and -8.
• Derive hardware safety requirements and assumptions of use from customer item-level safety goals when the device is developed as a Safety Element out of Context.
• Approve ASIL decomposition and safety mechanism architecture proposals before they are frozen into the SoC specification.
• Chair safety reviews, confirmation reviews, functional safety audits and functional safety assessments, and drive every finding to documented closure.
• Negotiate Development Interface Agreements with OEMs, Tier-1 customers and third-party IP suppliers to allocate lifecycle activities and evidence obligations.
• Gate-review quantitative target achievement (SPFM, LFM, PMHF) against ASIL B/C/D thresholds and reject FMEDA results that rely on unjustified diagnostic coverage claims.
• Run impact analyses for engineering change requests, mask revisions and process changes on safety-relevant products.
• Operate the field monitoring loop for safety anomalies, coordinating 8D, customer notification and potential safety recall assessment under Part 7.
• Maintain the functional safety competence matrix and training plan for the design, verification and product engineering teams.
• Coordinate co-engineering with the product security team so 21434 threat analysis and 26262 hazard analysis stay consistent.
