Register Map and IP-XACT Engineer

• Maintain the register description source in SystemRDL or IP-XACT as the authoritative hardware/software interface definition for the whole chip.
• Generate register block RTL, UVM register models, C headers, Python bindings and HTML/PDF documentation from a single description using tools such as PeakRDL or Magillem.
• Define and enforce register conventions covering access types, reset values, lock/protection bits, write-once fields, interrupt and status semantics and reserved-field behaviour.
• Build and maintain the address map and decode generation flow so the chip-level memory map is consistent with every block base address.
• Integrate register generation into continuous integration so that a register change automatically rebuilds RTL, models, headers and documents.
• Review register specifications from block owners for software usability, atomicity issues and security classification.
• Model register-level security attributes and access filtering for trusted versus untrusted masters together with security architects.
• Support firmware and validation teams with register-level debug artefacts such as decode tables and register dump utilities.
• Track and version register changes across tapeouts, producing diffs and migration notes for software teams.
