Power Management Software Engineer

Project

• Develop firmware for power management controllers and system control processors coordinating power domains and rails.
• Implement and validate low-power state entry and exit paths including suspend-to-RAM, deep sleep and always-on domain retention.
• Integrate with PMIC and regulator devices over I2C, SPMI or PMBus and manage rail sequencing and dependencies.
• Measure platform power with instrumented boards and current probes and attribute consumption to software behaviour.
• Hunt and eliminate wakeup sources, timer storms and blocked idle-state residency that prevent the platform reaching low-power states.
• Validate power behaviour across use-case scenarios, comparing results against marketing and datasheet power claims.
• Work with silicon power architects to correlate measured software-driven power against pre-silicon power models.

• Implement and tune DVFS policies, operating performance points and voltage-frequency tables across cores and accelerators.
• Implement thermal management policies including trip points, throttling, fan control and skin-temperature protection.
• Coordinate peak-power and current-limit policies with battery, charger and fuel-gauge subsystems.
