Power Management IC Design Engineer

Project

• Define the PMIC rail architecture — buck, boost, buck-boost, LDO, load switch count and ratings — from the system power tree and customer load profile.
• Design and integrate the supervisory functions: power-on reset, undervoltage lockout, overcurrent and overtemperature protection, and watchdog.
• Specify and implement the power-up and power-down sequencing engine with programmable timing and fault-handling behaviour.
• Own efficiency versus load-current curves across rails and drive the trade-off between switching frequency, passive size and quiescent current.
• Validate transient response to load steps, line steps, and dynamic voltage scaling commands in simulation and on the evaluation board.
• Coordinate electrical, thermal and package co-design with packaging engineers for high-current rails and exposed-pad thermal paths.
• Support customer design-in through reference schematics, BOM guidance for inductors and capacitors, and layout recommendations.
• Lead cross-block integration reviews with regulator, reference, high-voltage and digital control block owners.

• Design the I2C/SPI/SPMI or PMBus register interface, OTP configuration map and default-state strategy for multi-customer reuse.
• Perform FMEA and, for automotive parts, FMEDA to reach ASIL B/D metrics with safety mechanisms such as rail monitors and ABIST.
