• Convert floating-point MATLAB or Python algorithm references into bit-accurate fixed-point hardware specifications with justified word lengths and rounding modes.
• Design RTL for FIR/IIR filters, FFT and DFT engines, CORDIC rotators, interpolators, decimators and resampling chains.
• Implement channel coding hardware such as LDPC, Turbo, Polar and Viterbi decoders with the required iteration and throughput budget.
• Design MIMO baseband functions including channel estimation, equalisation and matrix decomposition datapaths.
• Perform quantisation noise and SQNR analysis to prove that the fixed-point implementation meets the link-level performance requirement.
• Build folded, time-multiplexed and pipelined architectures that trade throughput against area for a given sample rate.
• Correlate RTL outputs bit-exactly against the algorithm reference across corner-case vectors supplied by the systems team.
• Optimise dynamic power through data gating, coefficient symmetry exploitation and multiplier sharing.
• Support link-level and over-the-air validation by debugging hardware-versus-model discrepancies during bring-up.
• Document arithmetic contracts — scaling, saturation, overflow behaviour — for firmware and system integration teams.
