Ubitium raises $14 million for a single processor for autonomous machines

Ubitium, a German semiconductor start up founded in 2024, has raised US$14 million in new seed funding, bringing its total seed funding to US$18 million. Ibex Investors led the round, with OpenOcean joining and existing investors KBC Focus Fund, Runa Capital and Inflection taking part again. Florian Seibel, co founder and co chief executive of the defence technology company Quantum Systems, invested personally. Ubitium is designing one processor that handles the sensing, decision making and control tasks of an autonomous machine, with the aim of replacing the collection of specialised chips such machines typically use today. The company plans to complete the design of its first commercial chip, the UB410, which has 4,096 processing elements, and to deliver evaluation units to customers in 2027. The round was reported by Evertiq on the basis of the company's announcement; no valuation was reported.
