SiFive launches the FE310, the industry's first commercially available RISC-V-based chip
The FE310 was the first system-on-chip built on the open-source RISC-V instruction set architecture to reach commercial availability, paired with SiFive's HiFive1 development board. SiFive also open-sourced the chip's register-transfer-level design code, reinforcing RISC-V's position as an open alternative to proprietary architectures like x86 and Arm.
