AMD closes its acquisition of Xilinx
Xilinx shareholders received AMD stock in a roughly $49 billion all-stock deal, the largest semiconductor acquisition to close up to that point. First announced in October 2020, it significantly broadened AMD's reach into data center, embedded, and aerospace/defense markets by adding Xilinx's FPGA and adaptive-computing technology.
