Avago Technologies begins operations as Agilent's chip unit is spun out
KKR and Silver Lake Partners completed their acquisition of Agilent Technologies' Semiconductor Products Group, relaunching it as the standalone company Avago Technologies. Avago went public in 2009 and later acquired Broadcom Corporation in 2016, taking the Broadcom name.
