International Rectifier is founded in Los Angeles
Leon and Eric Lidow founded International Rectifier to commercialize their selenium rectifier manufacturing process for converting alternating current to direct current. The company became a major maker of power semiconductors and was acquired by Infineon Technologies in 2015.
