LIN Consortium
LIN (Local Interconnect Network) is maintained by LIN Consortium. The current version is LIN 2.2A. The register lists it as active. The specification is openly available.
A low-cost, single-wire serial bus for simple, non-safety-critical in-vehicle components — seat controls, mirrors, climate actuators — where full CAN hardware would be overkill. Runs as a slower complement to CAN rather than a replacement for it.
