Sensor Analog Front-End Design Engineer

Project

• Co-design the front-end with the transducer, deriving the electrical model of the sensor and its parasitics before circuit sizing.
• Design instrumentation amplifiers, capacitance-to-digital converters, transimpedance amplifiers and charge amplifiers matched to the sensor type.
• Apply chopping, correlated double sampling and auto-zeroing to push 1/f noise and offset below the required input-referred level.
• Design sensor excitation and biasing — bridge drive, LED drive, electrostatic force feedback, shunt reference — with ratiometric accuracy.
• Implement offset, gain, temperature and non-linearity compensation, including the digital calibration polynomial and its trim storage.
• Design safety and diagnostic features for automotive and medical parts: broken-wire detection, plausibility checks, redundant channels.
• Verify input-referred noise, drift, crosstalk between channels and EMI immunity including demodulation of RF interference.
• Close post-layout performance for leakage-sensitive nodes, guarding high-impedance inputs and managing package-induced leakage.
• Characterise the front-end with real transducers on the bench, including MEMS die, load cells or electrode phantoms.
• Support system partners on sensor calibration flows, end-of-line trim and application-level accuracy budgets.
