• Design multi-channel arbitrary waveform generation and digitiser hardware with sub-nanosecond deterministic timing alignment across channels.
• Implement RF up/down-conversion chains, IQ mixers and image rejection calibration for qubit drive frequencies in the 4–8 GHz band.
• Develop FPGA firmware for real-time pulse sequencing, demodulation, integration and low-latency mid-circuit measurement feedback.
• Characterise and minimise phase noise, spurious tones and DAC/ADC nonlinearity that translate directly into gate error.
• Build low-latency feedback loops for active reset and real-time error decoding within the qubit coherence window.
• Design and qualify cryogenic wiring, attenuation and filtering budgets so that thermal load and noise both fit within the fridge budget.
• Integrate control hardware with quantum software stacks through OpenQASM, pulse-level APIs and instrument drivers.
• Scale channel density and cost per qubit with multiplexed readout and shared local-oscillator architectures.
• Debug system-level failures spanning firmware, RF hardware, grounding and the cryostat with the qubit team.
