• Prepare capital appropriation requests for EUV and immersion scanners, etch and deposition clusters, ATE testers, and probers with NPV, IRR, and payback analysis.
• Model depreciation schedules and their gross-margin impact across fab ramp curves, including accelerated depreciation of trailing-node tools.
• Quantify the effect of CHIPS Act, EU Chips Act, Japan METI, and Korean and Taiwanese incentive packages on project economics and cash timing.
• Track capital commitment, spend, and in-service dates against approved budgets, flagging overruns and tool-delivery slippage.

• Build capacity models that translate wafer-start targets into tool counts by module — litho, etch, deposition, CMP, implant, metrology — and the resulting capital requirement.
• Evaluate greenfield fab versus brownfield expansion versus foundry capacity purchase, including construction timelines and cleanroom cost per square metre.
• Model tool utilisation, overall equipment effectiveness, and bottleneck sensitivity to show where marginal capital buys the most capacity.
• Support sale-leaseback, equipment financing, and used-tool disposition analysis for trailing-node and legacy capacity.
• Coordinate with Industrial Engineering and Fab Operations on cycle-time and capacity assumptions underpinning investment cases.
• Maintain the long-range capital plan and its alignment to the technology node roadmap and demand outlook.
