how did you know your chip project was on track?

i'm coming from software and working on my first chip. i've been using openroad with asap7, and i've got parts of the rtl matching a software reference in simulation. it feels like progress, but i'm not sure what those checks might be missing. on your last project, what did you look at along the way to know things were coming together? and how did you explain that progress to people without a hardware background? submitted by /u/TomasPiaggio [link] [comments]
