A model of the sensor's expected unit cost, built up from MEMS and ASIC wafers, yields, assembly, test, calibration time and overheads, compared with the target price.
Model Work product in the MEMS and sensors lifecycle
It shows whether the sensor can be made at a cost the market will pay, and which choices drive cost. For MEMS sensors, calibration time and yield often weigh as much as silicon, so without a model the concept is chosen on performance alone and cost targets are missed.
