In the equipment lifecycle it supports control software readiness including interlock behaviour; in the medical lifecycle it is required evidence under IEC 62304; in the industrial lifecycle it supports firmware integration and the safety case; in the Automotive SPICE lifecycle it supports the software and system verification gate. Without it, software defects reach integration and the field.
