The specification of the memory's external interface for the product: standard followed, speed grades, signalling, training, power states and any extensions.
Specification Work product in the Memory product lifecycle (DRAM, NAND and HBM)
The interface must match what host controllers and platforms expect, so it is fixed early from the product target specification. It guides interface design, base die design for stacked products and customer enablement. Without it, interface design starts from assumptions and deviations from the standard are discovered only during platform validation, when they are expensive to fix.
