Why it exists and what it decides

It shows whether the interface ASIC does what its specification promised before the design is judged correlated with the prototypes. Transducer and ASIC effects mixed together get faults blamed on the wrong part, and a redesign may start on the wrong die.

Which measured deviations can be absorbed by trim and calibration
Whether the ASIC models are accurate enough to keep using for verification
