1. Purpose of the gate
The screening every flight part goes through and the lot acceptance tests for each lot are defined, proven on real lots and approved by product assurance and the customer where required.
The screening and lot acceptance flow is how every future lot earns its place in a spacecraft. Once approved, it is a controlled item: changes need product assurance approval and, often, customer notification.
The gate checks the flow against the quality level and framework, checks that it has been run on real lots and that its limits are sensible, and agrees the procurement specification and the data pack with the customer.
