1. Purpose of the gate
The part's radiation response is measured and reported, compared with the predictions, and the hardness level the part can be supplied to is agreed.
This gate replaces predictions with measurements. Total dose results show parameter shifts against limits; single-event results give cross sections and on-orbit rates; displacement damage results are reported where relevant.
The hardness level decided here becomes the datasheet claim and sets radiation lot acceptance for every future lot, so it must be supported by the data with the margins agreed at the start.
