1. Purpose of the gate
Prototype measurements agree with the multiphysics and system models closely enough that the models can be used to set calibration, package and test decisions, with any redesign identified.
Many later decisions rest on models: stress isolation in the package, the calibration model and its temperature points, test limits and the error budget. The gate checks that the models now reproduce measured parts, parameter by parameter, within the tolerance set in the plan, and that the fitted model parameters are physically believable rather than numbers forced to fit.
It also takes the redesign decision. With correlated models, the team can judge whether the sensor meets its targets, and if not, whether the fix belongs in the MEMS, in the ASIC or in both. Recording that decision here stops redesign debates from running on into packaging and calibration.
Interface behaviour on silicon is also reviewed here for the first time: timing, levels and protocol corner cases on the serial interface are checked against the standard, so that issues are found while an ASIC change is still possible.
