1. Purpose of the gate
This gate turns the assessment into a business outcome. The customer compares the profile with the contract target and decides; the supplier commits to actions. The gate records both, so that the program, the customer relationship and the improvement work proceed from the same understanding.
The response to the outcome is frozen here: acceptance with conditions, an improvement plan and reassessment, or acceptance as is.
The profile must be read with its context. A capability level means something only for the scope, model version, organisational unit and projects assessed. When results are shared or quoted in customer questionnaires, they should be quoted with that context, never as a general statement about the whole organisation.
Conditions agreed here bind the supplier. Each condition should have an owner, the evidence that will close it and the point by which it must close, so the customer can check progress without another negotiation.
