1. Purpose and scope
Bring-up for an accelerator is judged by one result: real workloads, compiled by the real compiler and run by the real runtime, give correct results on silicon. Getting there means powering the part safely, training memory and links, booting firmware, loading the driver, and then climbing from simple tests to full models, finding and placing every problem on hardware, firmware or software on the way.
The stage opens at first silicon and closes when the software stack runs the target workloads on silicon, chip-to-chip links are trained and stable, and every difference from the design is recorded as an erratum with a workaround or a fix plan.
Bring-up is a team effort across disciplines that normally work at different paces. Board, silicon, firmware, driver, runtime, compiler and library engineers all need the same few early systems, so the bring-up lead schedules them, keeps a single issue list and holds a daily triage where each issue gets an owner and a working theory.
