PRBS (Pseudo-Random Binary Sequence)
A deterministic bit stream generated by an LFSR that has statistical properties close to random noise, used to stress serial links with realistic transition density and run lengths.
Common lengths are PRBS7, PRBS15, PRBS23 and PRBS31.

Notes
Longer sequences stress equalisation and jitter tolerance harder, so standards usually mandate PRBS31 for compliance testing.
